Robert D. Cook is an award-winning creative lead with over a decade of experience producing and editing high-stakes branded content for a global audience. Having spent 12 years based in Tokyo, he has developed a unique cross-cultural perspective and a newsroom mindset that thrives on precision, pace, and narrative clarity.

The Track Record

His portfolio spans automotive, sports, and lifestyle, featuring collaborations with Nissan, Rakuten, Golden State Warriors, the NBA, FC Barcelona, Beats By Dre, Warner Music Japan and Lululemon. Most recently, he spearheaded the Unity in Motion docu-series, a campaign that earned multiple global awards (dotCOMM, Viddy, and Global Content Awards) while generating over 4.5 million impressions on YouTube.

At the heart of Robert’s work is a deep-seated passion for documentary filmmaking and story-driven marketing. He believes that the most effective brand communication doesn’t feel like marketing, it feels like an experience. Whether directing long-form features like The Groundwork or crafting intimate athlete profiles for NBA Rakuten, his approach is to dig beneath the surface of the "win" to find the human narrative. By blending the cinematic language of documentary filmmaking with strategic brand objectives, he creates content that builds genuine emotional equity and long-term audience loyalty.

Robert doesn't just use industry-standard tools; he builds them. By integrating custom AI workflows and "vibe-coding" bespoke applications, from automated subtitle editors to production tracking tools, he has managed to successfully slash turnaround times and project costs for major stakeholders.
